Happy Dolly Parton Day to all those who celebrate!
Today, I have been celebrating as only I can – by keeping My Author amused (or possibly driving him insane!😁) by singing the lyrics to quite possibly the greatest song ever written to the tune of several of Dolly’s biggest hits.
I wonder if Dolly was secretly a fan of The Goons, because it’s just too easy to Yin Tong Iddle I Po my way through songs such as Jolene, Islands In The Stream, I Will Always Love You, and, of course, Nine To Five.
Although I have to admit, to really wind My Author up, I was trying to out-Whitney Whitney on I Will Always Love You.
So, yeah, thats what I’ve been doing today – loudly, and repeatedly, singing these songs in his head, to try and distract him from work.
